Dr Chantrey in British Vogue talking about skin peels

Dr Jonquille Chantrey in British Vogue discussing how to peel skin to reveal a fresher, healthier complexion.

Ethnicity, sun exposure and hormonal patterns must be considered to choose the right peel and prescribe the correct regime before and after the peel.

Controlled doses of TCA is excellent for deeper layers which can improve skin tightening, pigmentation, smoothness, uneven skin tone and surface wrinkles. Salicylic acid can help pore size and breakouts, glycolic and lactic acids are good for sun damaged skin.

I frequently use a bespoke combination of TCA (Trichloroacetic acid), Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid as a designer peel for the patient’s individual needs.

Applying incorrect acids for your skin type can lead to sensitised skin where the skin barrier becomes dysfunctional – irritated, red, patchy and can also stimulate breakouts.
